UNSEASONABLENESS is an attitude disagreeable to the persons we meet.

The unseasonable man is the sort of person who comes up to you when you are head over ears in work and confides to you all about it. He serenades his mistress when she is ill with fever. He approaches a man who has been cast in a surety case and asks him to stand surety for him. He appears to give evidence after the verdict is given. When he comes as a guest to a wedding he begins a tirade against woman. He asks those who have just returned from a long journey to come for a stroll with him. He is always found bringing a higher bidder to a man who has just closed a bargain. He will rise up and tell a long story from the very beginning to people who have heard it already and who know it by heart. He is eager to burden himself with the doing of things one doesn't want done but is ashamed to refuse. If you are engaged in sacrifice and theteby spending considerable sums it is then that he is sure to come to ask his interest. If he is standing by while your slave is being flogged, he has a long story how his slave got an exactly similar beating and hanged himself. When present at an arbitration he causes further dissension when both sides wish the quarrel at an end. Sbould he have a mind to dance, he grips hold of some one who is not drunk yet, and swings him out.
