Awakenings Easter events

IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY!

This year, we celebrate our 25th Birthday, and ofcourse, we go all out.

We are hosting 2 major festivals. The first celebration will be during Easter from 14 - 17 April, with 4 nights at the Gashouder and 2 days of Awakenings Easter Festival on our well known festival grounds in Spaarnwoude.

Awakenings Summer Festival will take place from the 29th until the 31st of July in Hilvarenbeek. With this brand new location, a third day added to the program and a revamp of the entire festival set up — including a campsite — visitors will be treated to something unlike they’ve ever seen before from us.

With the new expansion, Awakenings also becomes the first multi-day techno festival in the Netherlands to host a campsite, filling a gap that has existed in many techno enthusiasts summers for a long time.

How to get there
TOKENS
Food and drinks can be bought with tokens, which can be paid by cash and card at several token stations.
DEPOSIT RECYCLE SYSTEM
During all our Awakenings events we are working with a deposit system on all cups, cans and bottles we give out at the bars. We would like to collect as many as possible, to make sure they can be recycled!

  1. At the entrance, after scanning your ticket, you’ll receive 1 FREE recycle token from us.
  2. With each drink you order, you hand in your recycle token or an empty cup, can, or bottle.
  3. Lost your recycle token and/or your cup, can, bottle? Then you have to pay 1 regular token.
  4. When you’re leaving the venue or you don’t want to have a new drink, you can hand in your empty cup, can, or bottle at the bar or at the recycle points at the venue. The bar staff will give you your recycle token in return.
  5. There is a unique code on the recycle token, after the event you can go to our website and fill out the code, then you have a chance of winning prizes!
DIGITAL FLOORPLAN & TIMETABLE
To reduce our ecological footprint, you will find a digital version of our timetable and floor plan, live on our website.

You will find QR codes to scan on the festival site, with a live timetable, a downloadable floor plan, and many more extras to make your weekend as easy as possible.

CELEBRATE SAFE
If you’re not feeling well, please visit the “first aid” / “EHBO”, they are there for you. Take your time to chill out, eat some food and ice.

If you need water, you can either buy it at the bar or drink some at the free taps near the toilets. It’s advisable not to drink great amounts of water (no more than 1 or 2 glasses an hour) and to eat something.

Take precautions for your ears. We advise wearing earplugs with a music filter. There’s a special shop at the festival next to the first aid where we sell Alpine x Awakenings earplugs.
Also at the toilets, lockers and first aid will be ear protection available.

If you want information about (health implications of) drugs, visit the Celebrate Safe stand near the fairground at the festival or the Unity stand at the Gashouder.

WEATHER AND CLOTHING - Easter Festival
Prepare for all weather conditions. April in the Netherlands can be sunny during the day, cold in the evenings, and rain can be included. But that won't stop us :) With 6 massive tent areas and a semi-open-air area, the festival is produced for all weather conditions.

Check out our advice below:
  • Don’t forget to use sunscreen when it’s sunny (you can bring your own, no spray)
  • Drink enough water, but not too much
  • Take a break sometimes and don’t forget to grab a bite
  • We advise you to wear comfortable clothes and layers, so you’re able to take something off or put something extra on
  • During the night the temperature can drop, don’t forget to bring some warm clothes
  • Think of yourself, care about others
  • The first aid team is your friend
  • Don’t push your limits, be responsible
  • Most of all enjoy the festival and dance!
ARE YOU OK?
At Awakenings, we aim to create a space where you can be yourself and lose yourself. We value and respect people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and ethnicities. Therefore, we do not tolerate any form of (sexual) harassment. When you think you see someone being harassed, ask the question: ARE YOU OKAY? A simple question so everyone feels safe and respected. Let’s take care of each other.

Did you experience an unpleasant situation? Please turn to the first aid team at the festival site, they are trained to help you.
LOST & FOUND
Lost something? Check the iLost tent near the fairground/carnival area. Is the festival already finished? Check the website of iLost.
