Joton is synonymous with dark, futuristic, and sensitive techno, seamlessly mixed with the precision of a surgeon. His sound is industrial, analog, and mechanical, a pure distillation of techno’s essence. Joton’s style is physical, modular, and intensely direct, creating an exciting and timeless auditory experience.

With over two decades dedicated to the underground electronic scene, Joton has built a career that is both inspiring and influential. Based in León, Spain, he has meticulously crafted a distinctive style of techno, blending modern innovation with classic sensibilities.

As the founder of Newrhythmic Records, Joton has championed the work of countless national and international artists for over 20 years. His passion and vision have helped establish the label as a prominent force in the techno world. Joton’s global reach as a DJ has taken him to over 30 countries, where he has performed on some of the world’s most iconic stages.

A prolific artist, Joton’s work has been showcased on renowned labels including Soma, Illegal Alien, Fabric, Modularz, Symbolism, Planet Rhythm, Raw Raw, Dynamic Reflection, Quartz, Odd Even, and Skryptöm. His tracks have garnered support from legendary figures such as Ben Klock, DVS1, Rødhåd, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Truncate, and Go Hiyama.

In 2015, Joton released his debut album, Casting Out Nines, to critical acclaim, presenting it across ten countries on three continents. Two years later, he embraced his analog roots with the album R3silient. 2018 saw the release of Antioquia on Odd Even and Extreme Measures on RAW RAW, further solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in techno. His most recent album, Hikikomori (2021), was born out of his interactive production courses, reflecting themes of isolation during the pandemic.

Joton’s performances have left an indelible mark on some of the world’s most celebrated venues, including Tresor in Berlin, REX in Paris, Basement in New York, FOLD in London, Grelle Forelle in Vienna, Gamma Festival in Saint Petersburg, Propaganda in Moscow, Vent & Dommune in Tokyo, Vault Sessions in Amsterdam, Tunnel in Pereira, Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Gare in Porto, Infra in Boston, Under Club in Buenos Aires, Drugstore in Belgrade, Groundless Factory in Beijing, Fabrik in Madrid, Technosnobs in Phoenix, among others.

In 2024, he started a series of live A/V performances under the name Jx2. This IDM-focused project is shared with Javier Fernandez.

In addition to his production and performance work, Joton is a respected educator. Since 2010, he has shared his knowledge through collaborations with leading brands like Arturia, Parallel Festival, Microfusa, Millennia, Intec and The Bass Valley, as well as international institutions such as Beatworx Academy in India.
