Nick Rapaccioli

Nick Rapaccioli is one of the UK's most important techno pioneers. Setting up Atlas Records with Pete Herbert in 1995, he became known as an arbiter of electronic cool and quality. As a DJ, Nick Rap is known for his tough techno and Detroit influenced style. His productions have always had a hip, groove-fuelled energy, whilst retaining an experimental edge. Rapaccioli played a significant part in recording and producing Leftfield's 'Rhythm & Stealth' album, and worked on the Leftfield world tours, culminating in the infamous incident at Brixton Academy when the bass was so loud the ceiling began to splinter. As a solo artist, he has released tracks as Bushflange on Leftfield's legendary Hard Hands imprint, as well as under his own name on Vertical Form. Fast forward to '07, and Nick has been creating soundtracks for television shows and advertising, and is presently holed up in the studio working on the Lost Dog Found project - a new group with Leftfield's Neil Barnes. So far we've only heard the twisted pop of their Soho Dolls 'Stripper' remix and future folk reconstruction of Jose Gonzalez 'Crosses', but there's plenty more to come.
