Secco Akitam

Born in Cape Town, South Africa, on August 25, 1989, DJ Secco Atikam’s journey into music was inspired by icons like DJ Monde, DJ Fresh, Themba, BlackCoffee, Glen Lewis, DJ Christos, and DJ Khabzela. His passion for creating house beats began early, leading him to collect vinyl records in 2008 at Syndicate on Bree Street in Cape Town, South Africa. In 2010, Secco Atikam joined the SoulCandi Music Institute, studying music production, business, and DJing. This education paved the way for his career, landing his first residency at
Grand Africa Café & Beach in 2016, and later at Cabo Beach Club in 2021. His dynamic sets have electrified events such as Modular's Destination Saturn and Revival AfroHouse nights.

Enrolling in Bridges For Music's Music MBA course in 2023, Secco Atikam gained invaluable insights and interviewed influential artists like KUSUSA, Keinemusik, and Secret Cinema. Bridges For Music is a non-profit organisation that addresses the lack of access to resources, skills, and opportunities for young creatives.
