The livestreams for both weekends were initiated because of the fact that our Awakenings Easter shows couldn’t take place due to the outbreak of the Corona virus. During this massive two weekend event, 10 million people from 70 countries worldwide were able to relive last year’s Awakenings Festival and Awakenings at the iconic Gashouder. “We not only wanted to connect our fans from all over the world, but also give them a message to hang in there, stay home, never stop dancing and together we can get through this.”

Awakenings Festival

During the weekend of the 4th and 5th of April our fans were able to relive the largest outdoor techno festival live from their living room. We brought the complete festival experience from last year live to the television and social media. With sets from Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, Joris Voorn, Joseph Capriati and Maceo Plex accompanied by unrevealed videos and photos from the festival, we were trying to give our fans the exact feeling they experienced walking around in real life on the festival grounds. “We got a lot of comments from people asking: ‘Where is this event taking place in times of Corona?’”

Awakenings Gashouder

Last weekend during Easter, the 11th and 12th of April the Gashouder was the central point of attention on our socials. Due to regulation the Easter events couldn’t take place in its original way, that is why we came up with the idea to bring the Gashouder experience to peoples homes. During this two nights fans could tune in at every moment and listen to sets from none other than Carl Cox, ANNA, Dax J and others.
