Smoking
We do not sell cigarettes at the festival or campsite.

Due to Dutch regulations, it is forbidden to smoke inside venues and tents. If you still want to smoke, please do so outside. Thank you for cooperating and avoiding expensive fines.

Max packs of cigarettes allowed to bring per person:
Visiting 1 day = 2 packs / vaporizers
Weekend = 8 packs / vaporizers
Accessibility, Low-stimulus space and care room
We aim Awakenings to be accessible for everyone. Please find here the measurements we have taken.

At Awakenings Summer Festival, we have a low-stimulus space at the festival. This quiet area has some seats and noise-canceling headphones.

We also facilitate a care room, where the staff of Handicap NL can assist if needed. Both areas are located next to the first aid.

If you have any questions or requests concerning accessibility, please get in touch at accessibility@awakenings.nl. If you have any questions during the events, please don’t hesitate to turn to our staff.
How to get home after the festival
Consider that when everyone leaves at the end of the festival it will take a while to transfer all visitors by shuttles. We hired a huge number of buses, but if you want to be sure to catch a train you should leave in time.

Code of conduct, Social safety team
At Awakenings, we aim to create a safe space where you can be yourself and lose yourself. We value and respect all people. We have a collective responsibility and take care of each other.

If you experience or notice behavior that’s not in line with our values, please check in with each other and know that our (social safety) staff is always here for you.

Our Social Safety teams walk around the festival + camping as well and are recognizable by their jackets with 'SOCIAL SAFETY TEAM' on their back.

Click here to view our full code of conduct.
Protect your ears
We advise wearing earplugs with a music filter. There’s a special shop at the festival across area V where we sell Alpine x Awakenings earplugs. Earplugs will also be available at the merchandise store and markets.
Weather and clothing
Prepare for all weather conditions. In the Netherlands it can be sunny during the day, cold in the evenings, and rain can be included. But that won't stop us :) the festival is produced for all weather conditions.
  • Don’t forget to use sunscreen when it’s sunny (you can bring your own, no spray)
  • Drink enough water, but not too much
  • Take a break sometimes and don’t forget to grab a bite
  • We advise you to wear comfortable clothes and layers, so you’re able to take something off or put something extra on
  • During the night the temperature can drop, don’t forget to bring some warm clothes
Pickpockets
Be aware of pickpockets, and keep an eye on your bag/phone. If you see anyone suspicious, please turn to security and give a description of this person. Don't bring high valuables to the festival.
Lost & found
Lost something? Check the iLost tent near the first aid at the festival or the reception at the camping. Is the festival already finished? Check the website of iLost.

Found something or have questions about anything? Come to our iLost tent / camping reception.
The Camping Guardians
The Camping Guardians are there to ensure that you are safe and well. If you are feeling vulnerable, or just a little uneasy, the Guardians will help. They are not security guards, however, they can assist with security issues should you require them.

Guardians walk around the campsite 24/7. You can also find them at the info stand at the Grand Camping and Relax Resort, which is open 24 hours. We have an emergency telephone number, which is available 24/7 from Friday-Monday. The number will be in the camping booklet which you receive at the entrance.

Sustainability

We love to dance together on our beautiful planet for many more years. We are aware of our environmental impact, and we intend to create our festivals as sustainable as possible. Let’s take care of each other and keep it clean together!

Leave no trace
Often at festival campsites, many tents and other camping equipment are left behind, which leaves a great environmental impact on our planet. We kindly ask you to take care of your camping equipment after the festival and take it home.
Waste collection point
There are several waste collection points at the camping, where you can get rid of your full garbage bag. You can get a free new Awakenings garbage bag at the reception.
Green shower
An average 8-minute shower uses over 110 liters of water. Shower quickly in our disco showers and save water.
Vegetarian menu
One of the easiest ways to contribute to less climate change, is by eating a vegetarian diet. We offer a 100% vegetarian, delicious menu. Let us surprise you how versitale and nutricious it can be!
Plant trees
We ask our visitors to come by public transportation as much as possible, which most of you do. Awakenings donates 2% of every parking & shuttle bus ticket to Trees for All, who plant trees on our behalf to compensate the CO2 emission.
Smart energy
We always work with a smart energy plan, maximizing the consumption of energy from the power grid and other renewable sources. During our load-in and show period, we only make use of batteries. Since 2016, all stages are also powered by batteries. In 2019 we started using biofuels, obtained from horticulture, to power our generators. This will drastically cut down our CO2 emissions.
Water
At all our toilets, there is a free drinking water spot for you to fill your cup/ bottle.

We have flush toilets which are flushed with gray water (reusable wastewater). By doing so, we save 3kg CO2 per flush.
Camping Recycle & Repair store
No need to lug around heavy camping gear! Visit our Camping Recycle & repair store and rent essential items like chairs, tables, and coolboxes. By choosing to rent, you'll lighten your load and make a positive impact on the environment.

Discovered a small hole in your air mattress? Don't worry, we can fix it!

If you've brought your own camping equipment but won't be using it again, we encourage you to make a difference by dropping it off at our recycle store before you depart.

We will take the recycle store to future festivals and together, we will make a big impact in reducing our carbon footprint.
